Local photographer Michael Kelley spent a full day at Los Angeles International Airport shooting  putting this amazing image together of nearly every departure to illustrate how many planes take off in a given day.

It is a blend of 400 individual images the photographer took over the course of a day, and demonstrates the amazing variety of aircraft, colors, and countries that continuously go through our airport.

Micahel tells us, "Over the past 24 hours, my image 'Wake Turbulence' has gone beyond viral, showing up on major news outlets around the world and becoming the most popular aviation-related image of all time on reddit and a few other sites".

Check out Michael's write up of how he made it happen here:http://mpkelley.com/blog/

More than half the population of New York City rides public transportation to work. No other metropolis in this country even approaches that percentage or the MTA's total number of riders. For that reason, New York likely ranks as the most energy-efficient city in the nation. But what would it take to make the city even more energy-efficient or even self-sufficient?
