Southern California Feels 100+ Aftershocks

LOS ANGELES (AP) -- More than 100 aftershocks have rattled Orange County south of Los Angeles where a magnitude-5.1 earthquake struck Friday.

The U.S. Geological Survey says the latest -- a magnitude-3.4 -- hit Saturday morning a mile from La Habra, about 20 miles south of Los Angeles.
 
Police in the nearby city of Fullerton say 20 apartment units and half a dozen homes were red-tagged, displacing 83 people.

Friday night's quake caused a rock slide, water main breaks and items to fall off shelves.
No serious injuries have been reported.

OCFA responded to 14 automatic fire alarms 22 service calls/flooding, stuck elevators and gas leaks after last nights earthquake.

City of Brea

Carbon Canyon Rd remains closed. Awaiting Cal-Trans and geologist to evaluate damage. There is no estimate as to when the road will open.

    The Federal Aviation Administration has lifted its ban on U.S. carriers from flying to Tel Aviv. The announcement was made late Wednesday night.The FAA had extended the ban on Thursday afternoon after its first ban went into effect 24 hours earlier. The decision was made after a rocket launched into Israel from Gaza landed near the Ben Gurion Airport.

    Police say they arrested and charged a suspect in connection with the murder of a Brooklyn woman whose body parts were discovered in Bay Shore. Suffolk County homicide squad and the US Marshals NY/NJ Regional Fugitive Task Force arrested Leah Cuevas, 42, on Wednesday night. Cuevas lived on 346 Sumpter Ave. in Brooklyn, the same address as the victim, Chinelle Latoya Thompson Browne, 27. Cuevas was charged with second-degree murder and held overnight at Suffolk's Fourth Precinct.
