PHILADELPHIA -

After nine years here at FOX 29, "Good Day Philadelphia's" Sheinelle Jones said "goodbye" on Friday morning.

As you know, she's leaving Friday to spend more time at home with her husband and three young children.

Philadelphia City Councilman Jim Kenney wanted to honor Sheinelle's work and commitment to the city, so he invited Sheinelle and her family to council for the honor on Thursday. As she received the special honor, her co-anchor and good friend Mike Jerrick was right by her side! (You can see the video among the clips above, or click here.)

Thanks to all of you for sharing your favorite Sheinelle memories with the hashtag #GoodbyeSheinelle! We've compiled the videos, and you can watch all of the clips so far by clicking here.

Below, you can read Sheinelle's heartfelt words from her announcement earlier this month.

And in the videoplayer above you can watch clips from Friday's show, including Mike's message for Sheinelle and her's to him.

Thanks for watching as we shared our well wishes with Sheinelle... she's Philly-born, a dear friend and we will miss her!

At the end of this month, after almost 9 years here, I am leaving Good Day. I am going to be with my kids.

There is a quote that I hold onto, that is so true for me, and that is, 'God has bigger dreams for you than you can ever dream for yourself.' And when I look at my life so far, where I am, here, God has given me the desires of my heart and topped it by a billion. I thank you so much for allowing me to be a part of your mornings.

When I was in high school, in my bedroom I had one wall with two windows where I would gaze out and wonder where life would take me, cheerleading pics on one wall, Janet Jackson pictures on another, and above my bed, all the news anchors in Wichita Kansas I admired. Their black & white headshots, black sharpie signatures. That's all I wanted. Was to be one of them.

Well, I didn't end up in Kansas, I ended up in the city where I was born, here in Philadelphia. And who knew I would ultimately give birth to three children in the same hospital where "I" was born. And you've been with me for all of it.

And, no, I'm not in Kansas anymore, but God gave a piece of it right here. A man who grew up on the same street I did!

The two of us will always have an unspeakable bond.
