Man Starts To Carry a Cross From LA To NY On Foot

Posted: Updated:

Arthur Hollands walks 20 miles a day with a team of supporters on his mission to carry a cross from LA to NY.

"Maybe people think I'm weird, but I love it," said Hollandsn, an Evangelist. "I just want to share that people are loved, and you can have peace in your heart."

While crossing through Twenty Nine Palms, California he saw a familiar face that gave him chills. It was a marine who he met two years past and had even taken a photo with.

The U.S. Marine, Sean Amman, spoke out to Hollands in Japanese saying "long time no see."

Amman was equally amazed by the meeting.

"What are the chances that two years later -- on the other side of planet Earth -- that we are going to run into each other doing the same exact thing?" said Amman.

Hollands remarked, "People say it's a coincidence, but I say it's a divine appointment."

Hollands hopes to finish his cross-bearing walking mission within a year.

When Denis Belliveau is teaching kids about Marco Polo, he is in his element. He makes the explorer's journey come alive by taking students on a No. 7 train ride through Queens, New York's most diverse borough. He brings history alive for his students. Along the way the students stop in neighborhoods that mirror Polo's trip. I caught up with the class in Flushing, Queens, which easily resembles China.
