SMYRNA, Del. -

Smyrna Police say all eight schools in the Smyrna School District have been cleared for any signs of explosives following two unspecified bomb threats.

Acting Smyrna Police Chief Norman Wood told the News Journal in Wilmington Tuesday afternoon that the schools were found to be safe. Students were sent home for the day, officials said.

The school district said in an announcement on its website that the district's central office received the threats Tuesday morning and schools were evacuated.

The district says police are investigating.
