Spring Nor'easter Could Deliver Glancing Blow To Philly

Posted: Updated:
PHILADELPHIA -

A lot of us on Friday were just praying and hoping that anapproaching storm would move out to the east. And the good news is that it hastracked more east.

The bulk of the storm and bulk of the intensification willhappen off shore or up in New England.

But that doesn't mean we will escape entirely.

By Wednesday morning we will have a coating of snow, at thevery least, on the ground. It may be several inches.

We've got the cold air in place this morning. Our temperaturebefore sunrise Monday in Philadelphia was 24 degrees, but it felt like 12 withthe wind chill.

If you didn't go outside Sunday, you were only outside on Saturday,it will be a shock to your system today.

Our spring Nor'easter is expected to move up the coast, andwe will probably start off with some rain. And then, Tuesday night, will comethe changeover to snow.

It looks like the bigger impact, as we mentioned, will be inNew England. But we could get several inches of snow.

Our early estimates of accumulation shows we think Philadelphiawill see 1 to 3 inches by Wednesday morning, and there may be a little bit moreto the north and a little bit less to the south of us.

But it remains to be seen just exactly what track that stormwill take.

A quick look at the seven day-forecast shows you we've gotcold weather all of the way through Wednesday. By Thursday, we're up to 48degrees.

We're back to the 60s by Friday and Saturday.
