CHICAGO (FOX 32 News) -

The Chicago Fire Soccer Club and Giordano's Famous Stuffed Pizza have announced that Giordano's is the exclusive and official pizza of the Fire.

The Fire's season opener is on March 23, 2014 against the New York Red Bulls. It's presented by Giordano's and marks the exciting beginning between the two collaborating brands.

"Giordano's and the Chicago Fire are united by a commitment to hospitality," said Giordano's CEO Yorgo Koutsogiorgas. "We both enjoy creating a vibrant energy and environment and serving people of all ages. From families and young adults to lifelong soccer fans, Giordano's and the Chicago Fire look forward to bringing customers back for more, week after week, all year round."

Giordano's and the Fire are aiming to expand awareness for their brands, with the shared goal of owning the conversation about soccer in Chicago.

"Chicago is known for its deep-dish pizza and sports, so it makes perfect sense for Giordano's and the Fire to partner up," said Chicago Fire Chief Operating Officer Atul Khosla. "We couldn't be more excited and are looking forward to working together to deliver an exciting and authentic soccer experience for our fans."

As a token of appreciation for Chicago's first responders, the Fire and Giordano's delivered pizzas Wednesday to several Fire Department firefighters across downtown.

Also, Giordano's is running a promotion that anyone who orders a pizza from March 19 to March 22 will be entered to win two tickets to the season opener, as well as a Giordano's and Fire-branded soccer ball.

Additionally, Giordano's signature deep-dish pizza will be available to Fire fans at the Toyota Park home opener.

Also, the Fire had a post-training luncheon Thursday with owner Andew Hauptman, as well as head coach Frank Yallop and COO Atul Khosla in the Second Star Club at Toyota Park.
