Posted: Updated:

The highway of Route 73 near Myers Avenue in Winslow Township is were police say two men driving got involved in a road rage dispute. They got the call from 65-year old Robert Danchisko Wednesday evening.

"The caller reported the erratic driver gave a partial tag and a direction of travel. Shortly there after the call was disconnected," said Sergeant Chris Dubler.

But moments later police got another call. This time it was from a neighbor on nearby Breckinridge Drive about a fight on the lawn of a home. Turns out, it was Danchisko, the 9-11 caller, who lives on the street and had reportedly been followed by the accused erratic driver.

"The victim was still being followed on Breckinridge Drive and became alarmed because the suspect was still behind him. He didn't want to pull into his house so he pulled into another driveway in the area where he lived and the subject pulled up behind him and they get out and that's when he confronted the victim," said Sergeant Dubler.

When police got there the suspect, 19-year old William Jackson was gone. It was later determined that the victim suffered from broken bones, a collapsed lung and head injuries

"Upon arrival there they located the victim on the ground semi conscious and covered in blood."

Neighbors who witnessed the attack gave police information that helped them track down the suspect who is now in jail on $100,000 bail.

"They were able to make phone contact with the suspect and after having phone conversations back and forth he eventually around 12:30 or 1:00, he turned himself in," said Sergeant Dubler.

The victim is at Cooper Hospital in critical but stable condition.
