Police warn of violent South Side robberies

Chicago Police issued an alert Wednesday warning South Side residents of two violent robberies in the Douglas and Grand Boulevard neighborhoods.

Between five and six teens approach a victim on the street from behind, steal property, then hit and kick the victims, according to the alert from Area Central detectives.

The robberies happened about 4:45 p.m. March 11 in the 200 block of East 35th Street; and about 4:35 p.m. March 14 in the 4700 block of South Cottage Grove, police said.

The suspects are described as about 5-6 black teens between 13 and 16, police said.
