PALATINE, Ill. (Sun-Times Media Wire) -

A father and his 15-year-old son were found shot to death early Wednesday in northwest suburban Palatine.

Segundo Reynoso, 38; and his 15-year-old son Luis Reynoso were discovered lying on the floor with gunshot wounds in an apartment at the Baldwin Greens Apartments in the 1900 block of Green Lane North about 12:25 a.m., according to Palatine police.

Both were taken to Advocate Lutheran General Hospital in Park Ridge, where they were pronounced dead about 1:20 a.m., according to the Cook County Medical Examiner's office.

Autopsies Thursday found the elder Reynoso died of a gunshot wound to the face, while his son died of multiple gunshot wounds, according to the medical examiner's office. Both deaths were ruled homicides.

Police said the teen had gang ties.

No arrests have been made, but Palatine police, the Major Case Assistance Team Forensic Unit and the medical examiner's office are investigating.

Anyone with information should call police at (847) 359-9000 or the Crime Stoppers Tip Line at (847) 590-7867.
