Man rents out apartment, finds sex party going on

Posted: Updated:
NEW YORK (MYFOXNY) - Condoms, liquor, missing furniture and more than two dozen people are not what Ari Teman thought he'd find while stopping into his Chelsea apartment one evening.

Teman had rented his home for the weekend on the AirBnb website to a man who said he needed space for family members who were in town for a wedding.

The stand-up comedian thought it would work out and went ahead with the rental, but when he stopped in he said a sex party was being broken up.

"About 18 guys were standing outside looking like they had been thrown out of a nightclub. They said they're shutting us down. I thought that was extreme for hosting your brother and sister-in-law for their wedding," said Teman.

The "event" Teman later discovered was promoted on social media with tickets on Twitter going for $20 before 1 a.m. and more thereafter.

Teman says he's staying in a hotel while the apartment is cleaned and is having ongoing discussions with AirBnb over who will cover the expenses from the sex party.

"It was disgusting and there was an orgy going on. It's now time to redecorate," said Teman.

Teman is making light of the ordeal. He's even incorporating it into his stand up routine Tuesday at 9 p.m. at the Village Comedy Club on MacDougal Street.

At least a dozen scathing reviews were printed about Robert F. Kennedy Jr.'s new book on a preservative used in vaccines before it was released. It's not fair, says Kennedy Jr., and he explained why during Good Day New York. "They attacked me for what they believed was going to be in the book which was a discussion about autism and that is not in the book," said Kennedy Jr.

The winning project of  The Great Lemonation Imagination Collaboration was turned into a real lemonade stand complete with free lemonade in Manhattan's Flatiron District. The organization's members were also required to help run the stand that went up at Broadway and 23rd Street on Wednesday.
