One person is dead and two others are seriously injured after a high-speed chase with police ends in a crash.

Detroit police responded to reports of a carjacking near Seven Mile Road and Outer Drive around 2 a.m. Monday.

The victim told police he was carjacked and abducted at a gas station by three black males. According to the victim, the suspects drove him around for a while, making a stop at an unknown house, before stealing his belongings and letting him out of the vehicle.

Police later saw the alleged stolen vehicle, a burgundy Dodge Duster, driving along Seven Mile Road. Police say the vehicle's driver would not comply and drove off when the officer tried to make a traffic stop.

The driver of the vehicle eventually lost control, flipped over and hit a pole.

Sources say the driver was exceeding speeds of 70 miles per hour, and the chase lasted less than a minute before the crash happened.

The passenger in the backseat was taken to the hospital and pronounced dead on arrival. Police say he was between the ages of 16 to 18 years old.

The passenger in the front seat was ejected from the vehicle, and is in the hospital listed in serious condition. Police say he is 16 years old.

The driver of the vehicle was able to crawl out of the wreckage. He is listed in temporary serious condition. Police say he is also 16 years old.

Police are reviewing dashcam video as they continue the investigation.
