What's Happening: American Craft Council Show

COBB COUNTY, Ga. -

The American Craft Council Show kicks off Friday at the Cobb Galleria Centre.

More than 225 top artists will be gathered under one roof to celebrate all things handmade. From contemporary jewelry to clothing, furniture, and home décor, the three day show has it all.

Artists come from across the country for the show. It is the largest juried, indoor craft show in the southeast.

Visitors will get a chance to touch, feel and explore high-quality American crafts.

The show runs through Sunday. A one day pass costs $13 and a 3-day pass costs $28. Kids 12 and under are free. On Friday evening after 5pm, tickets are just $5.

    A small jetliner made an emergency landing at LaGuardia Airport Wednesday afternoon shortly after taking off, authorities said. American Eagle Flight 3340, carrying 44 passengers and three crew members, departed LaGuardia heading for Knoxville, Tenn., when it had to turn around because of a maintenance issue, the Port Authority said.

The officer, an 18-year veteran of the force assigned to the 5th Precinct, suffered a gunshot wound in his lower leg, according to the head of the police union. He was brought to University Hospital in Newark and appears to be in "relatively good shape," according to James Stewart Jr., the union head.
