Snakes in a cab prank

Posted: Updated:
NEW YORK (MYFOXNY) - Former taxi driver Jimmy Failla thought it would be funny to put a yellow python in the back seat of a cab and frighten New Yorkers.

Video taped pranks are nothing new in the Big Apple but this time people feared the snake would be taking a bite out of them.

Failla, who now works as a comedian with regular gigs at Gotham Comedy Club and Comic Strip Live, recorded riders reactions when he poked the live python at them.

But the Taxi and Limousine Commission is not laughing.

"We are clearly going to actively question this person's suitability to continue holding a TLC license," spokesman Allan Fromberg told the NY Post.

Passengers are seen screaming, cursing and trying desperately to get out of the moving cabs.

Failla, 37, reportedly rented the cab from a medallion owner.

None of the riders have filed complaints against him.
