New Sunglass' Name Causes Controversy

Posted: Updated:

A new thin-framed pair of shades will empty out a few pockets with a price tag of $500, but the controversy behind the poorly-named designer duds is enough to turn away several people.

The sunnies are named "Anorexxxy," referring to their super-thin frame. The french, "modern-vintage" design is quite captivating, but the offensive title that alludes to the eating disorder, Anorexia, is causing a ton of controversy.

Celebrities are grabbing the limited edition frames, but many people wonder if this product glorifies eating disorders.

The topic of eating disorders is one that has brought about a lot of controversy in recent years. #Thinspo was among Fox 29's most recent explorations of the of the community that desires thinness.

The sunglasses in question defend their brand saying they never realized that the name could cause such an uproar.
