Non-Profit Seeks To Bring Awareness To Autism In April

Posted: Updated:
PHILADELPHIA -

Autism Awareness Month is in April. And a local non-profit for families dealing with Autism, called "Jaden's Voice" has a great event this weekend to kick things off – and it's free!

Joining "Good Day Philadelphia" on Tuesday morning to talk about the event was Terri Matthews, the founder and CEO of Jaden's Voice.

The "play date" will be Saturday at the Academy of Natural Sciences. The free event will allow parents and children to collaborate, communicate and play.

The organization seeks to bring families together in a positive environment and allow children to experiment and explore the museum.

You can RSVP to the event on the group's website.

Autism Awareness Month and National Autism Awareness Day on April 2 bring forth the question with no answer: how can we end the epidemic that we don't even know the cause of? Statistics show that Autism affects 1 in 88 children, and boys are nearly five times more likely to develop Autism.

Jaden's Voice hopes to bring awareness to the growing epidemic and let parents and children alike know that they are not alone in the fight to end Autism.
