Favoring Fish over People (Drought Relief)

Posted: Updated:

Californians are now facing the worst drought in 500 years.

So what are President Obama and Governor Brown doing about it?

Not much to get Californians more water.

In fact, they are part of the problem.

I'd like to hear your Point of View. Send me an email at POV@fox11.com.

It is the Obama Administration's interpretation of the Endangered Species Act, with support from Governor Brown, that's causing fish to be favored over people.

As a result, water that could be going to farmers and residents -- is in fact being used to help preserve a fish, called the Delta Smelt.

Californians needs this water.

Crops are being lost in record numbers.

Farmers have already sustained a $5-Billion dollar loss because of this lack of water.

Obama and Brown are making our parched conditions significantly worse because they are unwilling to release delta water that would help our drought weary state.

It's bad enough we have a real drought without them making it even worse.

They should come out in support of HR-3964, which if passed, would release more water to farmers and residents.

Currently they are attacking it.

Californians deserve no less than to get the water they need.

Thanks for listening.
