PHILADELPHIA -

Study after study has come out warning us about the links between sports and concussions.

The focus has been on football and hockey. But recently soccer has been added to the mix.

And now there is a new documentary called "Head Games: The Global Concussion Crisis" that reveals new neurological findings that will change the perception of concussions.

Joining "Good Day Philadelphia" on Thursday morning was one of the doctors featured in the film, Dr. Christina Master, pediatric sports medicine specialist and concussion expert at the Children's Hospital of Philadelphia.

Among the items discussed in the documentary are:

  • Researchers believe soccer "headers" need to be studied more to determine risk;
  • Soccer alone accounts for 15 percent of the total number of sports concussions;
  • About 82 percent of athletes suffered two or more concussions, according to a story;
  • And female soccer players have higher incidence of concussion than males.
