Becca's Closet Provides Prom Dresses For Free

Posted: Updated:
ATLANTA, Ga. -

Young women unable to afford a prom dress have the opportunity to get one for free -- thanks to dedicated volunteers and a very special 16-year-old young woman.

Rebecca Kirtman passed away in 2003, but the Florida girl had already created her own legacy by launching a dress drive to provide prom dresses and accessories to girls who couldn't afford to buy them. Now, in her memory, volunteers around the world continue to collect and distribute prom fashions to high school girls who need them. Becca's Closet also awards scholarships to young men and women who "demonstrate Becca's spirit or generosity in their own communities."

Becca's Closet Atlanta -- located on Whitlock Ave. in Marietta -- has thousands of prom dresses ready to go to young women in need. Good Day Atlanta's Paul Milliken spent the morning there checking out the selection -- and learning about the organization's mission.
