St. Clair Shores residents fed up with icy roads

Posted: Updated:
ST. CLAIR SHORES, Mich. (WJBK) -

With the recent frigid temperatures the roads aren't getting better for drivers.

Residents along Manor St. in St. Clair Shores say they're driving on sheets of ice, and are constantly getting stuck.

FOX 2's Robin Schwartz went there Friday. She saw one resident spinning out, and the FOX 2 live truck that weighs 10,000 pounds also had trouble navigating the ice.

FOX 2 went to the city manager's office but found no on there. We also learned the manager of the Department of Public Works is on vacation.

However, a city vehicle was spotted driving along Manor St. indicating they must be aware of the icy conditions.

If an iced coffee from Dunkin' Donuts is part of your afternoon routine, expect a nudge to buy a cookie or doughnut you didn't plan on. Dunkin' Brands CEO Nigel Travis said in a phone interview Thursday that the company is pushing to get its cashiers to "upsell" to afternoon customers. It's part of an effort to increase sales after stores have emptied out after the morning rush.
