Lawmakers To Camp Out For Homeless Youth

Posted: Updated:
If you ever wished that you could throw your politicians out into the cold world, a new event at the statehouse may do just that. While New Jersey lawmakers won’t exactly be thrown out of their offices to brave the harsh realities of life, a group of lawmakers are planning to host a campout event on the front lawn of the statehouse in order to support New Jersey Homeless Youth. On April 11th, lawmakers will be sleeping outside in order to raise awareness about homeless youth and to get a better picture of how it really feels to not have a roof over their heads.

“I just want to thank the covenant and legislature for taking time and having the thought to spend the night outside to see how it really feels,” said one activist during the press conference.

Whether you think this will be an effective effort or not, it’s a good thing to see politicians be put in situations that some unfortunate people have to suffer with every day
