Bundle Up For What Could Be Record-Low Temps This Morning

Posted: Updated:
PHILADELPHIA -

Is there any escaping this brutal winter? Bitter cold temperatures are gripping the area this morning. We could see record lows!

But that's not all we're facing. We're also keeping an eye on a winter storm, headed our way, by the end of the weekend. And this could cause quite a mess.

FOX 29's Steve Keeley is live in Center City with more on today's chilly temps for the last day of February, about 25 degrees below the normal for this time of year.

We're nearing a single-digit record of 9 set back in 1934. We were at 11 degrees at 6 a.m., and we remained there at 11 a.m. Wind chills are below zero everywhere in our area.

We're headed to a high of 23, and then it's back down to around 10 degrees overnight.

Keeley has found commuters plenty bundled up, and says this is a combination day when many are wearing both their hats and hoods.
