Vigil for grandmother killed in hit-and-run

DETROIT (WJBK) -

The Detroit Police Department is asking for the public's help solving a deadly hit-and-run that occurred on February 20, 2014.

Darleane Yeargin, a 55-year-old grandmother of six, was struck by a vehicle as she was walking near the area of Puritan Street and Asbury Park.

Friends and loved ones gathered at the scene Wednesday night to remember Yeargin.

Police believe she may have been struck by two vehicles. Police say neither driver stopped at the scene.

The first suspected vehicle is a black or darker-colored 2002-2003 Chevy Monte Carlo.

 That second suspected vehicle is a white conversion van.

Surveillance photos of the suspected vehicles have been released.

    A Queens woman had some unexpected roommates living in her apartment: 50,000 bees. Beekeepers reportedly removed the swarm from Frieda Turkmenilli's ceiling this week after her neighbors in Queens alerted the building manager. Turkmenilli says she saw only a few bees buzzing around over the last few weeks and never realized how many had taken up residence right above her head.
