Surveillance Video Shows Principal Dragging Students Down Hallway

Posted: Updated:

A Bridgeport principal finds herself in hot water after two videos of show Principal Carmen Prez Dickson allegedly dragging students down a hallway.

The principal appears to be pulling two different kindergarten students by their legs down the Jettie S Tisdale Elementary School's hallway.

She was suspended for six weeks despite the superintendent recommending she get fired.  Principal Dickson will be allowed to return to the district in March but will have to transfer to a different school.

The board member's chief administrative officer says the video is an incomplete account of what really happened because it didn't show the behavior of the children.

Parents are having mixed reactions to the video.

One parent believes the principal was out of line. "If they touch a child in any way that is inappropriate they shouldn't be allowed back."

While another parent is really surprised by the principal's actions. "I personally like Ms. Dickson she's always been good with my kids. I never knew what happened."

Bridgeport Public School's new superintendent will have the final decision what position Ms.Dickson will have.
