Suspect Being Questioned In Attempted Abduction

PHILADELPHIA -

Philadelphia police are questioning a man in connection with the attempted abduction of a young girl.

The was at a corner store on the 3700 block of North 5th Street. The 10-year-old young girl was walking across the street when a man approached her.

Police say he grabbed her arm.

Witnesses say she ran back in the store hysterically. Neighbors sprang to action immediately and managed to pin down the suspect.

Police say the girl was not sexually assaulted, but they are investigating the case as an attempted abduction.

The girl and the 24-year-old suspect were taken to the Special Victims unit to be interviewed.

Investigators say the girl, who lives on the block, was not injured.
