Women On Edge At S.Jersey Apartment Complex With Suspect On The Loose

CLEMENTON, N.J. -

Women who live at the Autumn Ridge Apartments in Gloucester Township are on edge after police say this man attempted to make sexual contact with two women in the parking lots Tuesday night.

You're definitely more aware of your surroundings and who to look out for and stuff. I was ready to get a baseball bat and carry it around with me," said Gina Figarola

Investigators say the first incident occurred around 6:30 when the suspect started to help a 49 year old woman clear snow off her car near building "F", then attempted to grab her and kiss her. She screamed and he ran off. Ten minutes later, police say the same man approached a 20 year old woman near building "J", tried to put his arm around her and reached for her chest. She kicked and screamed. He fled.

"Never seen him, definitely not," one woman said.

"I told her just don't talk to anyone, anymore," said Mike Bove who lives here with his girlfriend. He heard about the two incidents and started taking steps to make sure she's okay when she comes and goes from the sprawling apartment complex.

"Every time she calls at night I stay up and come get her," he told Fox 29. "It's what I gotta do until they find him I guess."

Figarola says she's seen new surveillance cameras go up and extra police patrols near her building. She's not only concerned for her own welfare; she's worried about her children.

"They're my pride and joy, they're what I live for so definitely concerned," she said.

Police say the suspect wears a scarf or a mask covering part of his face and he has a pointy nose. They did search the complex with K-9s after the incident.

Police are urging anyone who recognizes the man from the sketch to call Gloucester Twp. Police.
