New Terror Threat Leads To Increased Precaution At Airports

Posted: Updated:

The National Security Agency has increased focus on their concern about the potential for terrorists to smuggle explosives onto airplanes with footwear.

"Generally when the government lets us know about this kind of threat, it comes from the National Security Agency, the NSA. it's usually an intercept of perhaps a cell phone conversation," says Fox News Military Analyst Lieutenant Colonel Ralph Peters.

The Department of Homeland Security asserts that there is no immediate threat, but considering recently averted threats directed at the Olympics in Sochi, concerns over the safety of travelers is valid.

The TSA says that the concern is more on international flights coming into the U.S., but considering the heightened security risk, it's easy to deduce that security lines at any airport may become significantly longer, slower, and more thorough.
