Olympic athlete's wolf-in-dorm video is a hoax

Posted: Updated:
NEW YORK (MYFOXNY) -

UPDATE: The claim by American luger Kate Hansen that she opened her door to find a wolf roaming the halls of the dorm where Olympic athletes stay in Sochi is a hoax orchestrated by late-night talk show host Jimmy Kimmel.

"I'm pretty sure this is a wolf wandering my hall in Sochi," the 21-year-old Olympian wrote in the description to video posted on YouTube. She used the hash tag #SochiFail on the video description.

BuzzFeed reported that Hansen was in on the hoax.

Hansen had already become a bit of a media sensation at the games for her pre-race dances.
