Tips For A Productive Morning

Posted: Updated:

If you want to make the most of your day and be productive, there are five things that productivity experts say you should avoid in the morning, especially in the first 15 minutes of your day.

5. TACKLING BUSY OR DREADED WORK FIRST.

Doing your least favorite tasks first can zap your energy, experts say. Therefore, start with something that important that will likely yield a positive outcome.

4. ANSWERING THE PHONE.

Unless you're a doctor or handling some sort of crisis, experts say turn off the phone in order to avoid interruptions.

3. SKIPPING A WORKOUT.

Procrastination begins in the body, experts say, and deskwork helps foster it. Morning exercise gets the blood flowing and makes you more alert. If you don't like to sweat or can't fit in a long routine, experts recommend simply start your day by stretching, twisting or dancing.

2. TURNING ON THE TV.

It's just another distraction, experts say. Television stretches out our morning ritual. Instead, experts recommend using the radio or just music.

1. GOING ONLINE

Experts suggest staying offline until 10 a.m. The Internet can very quickly be a vortex that sucks you in and makes your morning unproductive.
