JERSEY CITY, N.J. (AP) - Work is set to get underway to enhance safety and security on the PATH rail line.

The Port Authority of New York and New Jersey says the Exchange Place and World Trade Center stations will close over the weekend beginning Friday night. Weekend service between the stations will be suspended into early 2015 to install federally-mandated automatic braking technology.

New Jersey Transit will allow PATH riders to use their tickets on the Hudson-Bergen Light Rail Line.

The Hudson-Bergen Light Rail line runs along the river and connects Exchange Place to Hoboken's terminal. Hoboken trains into Manhattan will continue to operate on weekends.

Things are looking up for cute little Cami King. Not only is her cancer in remission, she also just got to meet Mickey, Minnie and Elmo in Times Square. But, if you can believe it, there's something else this 4-year-old is even more excited about: Times Square is going gold. The chairman of the Times Square Advertising Coalition announced the crossroads of the world is going to light up in gold to raise awareness for pediatric cancer research.

It appears the subway bedbug problem we've been reporting is getting worse. Commuters already have to contend with sweltering platforms, scurrying rats and packed train cars, and now there's another transit woe: fear of bedbugs.
