A Chicago man was arrested Wednesday and charged in connection to residential burglaries in the Lincoln Park neighborhood on the North Side.

Arthur Nielsen, 34, faces three felony counts of residential burglary after police apprehended him Wednesday exiting a multi-unit building in the 2200 block of North Geneva Terrace, police said. He was already on parole for burglary.

Police suspecting that a known burglary offender was operating in that area set up surveillance and observed Nielsen, of the 9100 block of South Perry Avenue, entering the three-flat building about 2 p.m. Wednesday, police said.

Officers learned Nielsen broke into two separate residences while he was inside the building and, upon seeing him exit a short time later, placed him into custody without incident, police said. He was in possession of burglary proceeds when he was arrested.

Nielsen is scheduled to appear in bond court Thursday.
