NEW YORK (MYFOXNY) - Several pricey cars were swallowed up by a massive sinkhole in Kentucky on Wednesday morning.

A sinkhole about 40-feet wide opened up below the National Corvette Museum in Bowling Green damaging eight Corvettes.

The museum was closed for the day, according to its website CorvetteMuseum.org

The floor in the Skydome area of the museum collapsed before 5:44 a.m. No one was injured.

The hole was approximately 25-30 feet deep.

The vehicles damaged include a 1962 Black Corvette owned by the museum and a 1993 ZR-1 Spyder on loan from General Motors.

A structural engineer is assessing the damage and stability of the area.

The museum was preparing for its 20th anniversary celebration in August.
