A news anchor appears to have embarrassingly mistook Samuel L. Jackson for Laurence Fishburn during a live TV interview Monday morning.

KTLA entertainment anchor Sam Rubin was interviewing Jackson about "RoboCop" and asked him about his Super Bowl commercial, to which Jackson responds: "What Super Bowl commercial?"

Rubin pauses and looks around for help before saying, "Oh, you know what? My mistake."

Jackson says, "See, you're as crazy as the people on Twitter! I am not Laurence Fishburn!"

Rubin smiles and says, "That's my fault," but is cut off by Jackson saying, "We don't all look alike!"

Rubin continues to try and apologize and Jackson will not let him off the hook.

Rubin has apologized to Jackson. He calls the "shellacking" "well deserved" but indicates he was referring to a "Captain America" ad that had run during the Super Bowl, but was too embarrassed to bring it up after the misunderstanding. Click here to read the full transcript of Rubin's apology.

KTLA is a CW-affiliated television station located in Los Angeles, Calif.
