Actor Jesse Metcalfe returns to 'Dallas'

Posted: Updated:
NEW YORK (MYFOXNY) - Actor Jesse Metcalfe was born the same year the original 'Dallas' series premiered. He now stars in the latest incarnation of the legendary TV series on TNT.

"I had to go back and watch as many episodes as I could to see the tone of the show and to see what made that show great," said Metcalfe.

He plays Christopher, the adoptive son of Bobby Ewing.

“I’m not as angry this year. I’m sort of the romantic lead, the romantic hero. Everyone is vying for hierarchy in the family," said Metcalfe.

The former NYU student and model shoots 25 episodes per season.

Actor Larry Hagman was among the star-studded cast of 'Dallas' during its heyday in the late 1970s and 1980s. He reprised the role in 2012, but his time was cut short when he died from cancer.

"I shared the screen with the man for a year and a half. He is certainly missed. He had a lot of different facets to his personality. He was the opposite of his character," said Metcalfe.

Season 3 of 'Dallas' begins Feb. 24 at 9 p.m.
