Dermot Mulroney: We Had To Tip The Scales A Little Bit

Posted: Updated:

Dermot Mulroney is on a roll. He's getting attention for his role in "August: Osage County" and has a new series about to premiere on NBC. The actor talked to Lisa and Steve about his on screen reunion with Julia Roberts how the producers pushed for the entire cast to bond before cameras rolled.

"They really meant for us to become a close knit group and it worked...So Meryl Streep is having us over to her little condo for a pot luck dinner and I made the Waldorf salad. I texted Julia and she said that was her favorite salad."

And what about Meryl during that infamous dinner scene? "She's really the only one who can be that mean and that funny!"

Lisa made no secret about her disgust with Dermot's character...he talked about that arc. "He comes in, he seems like he's the potential normal one, just an outsider looking in, and then he gets drawn into their madness and his dark side is revealed."

Dermot is also set to explode onto the small screen in the upcoming NBC series "Crisis". "The pilot is a real spellbinder and what I know that nobody else knows is what happens after that and it's crazy! It's not even funny, it gets real..."

Lisa also asked about a possible sequel to the movie most ladies remember him from: "My Best Friend's Wedding". "What's happened is I did another movie with Julia so this has become the go-to question because it's such a beloved film...so I'm totally in favor of whatever you're suggesting."

"August: Osage County" is in theaters now.
