Teen shot in Detroit, remains unidentified in a coma at Henry Ford Hospital

(WJBK) -

Five days ago a teenager was shot and left for dead. He is in a coma at the hospital, but doctors and police have no idea who this boy is or where he came from.

Neighbors heard the gunshots and went outside to find the boy shot in the head inside a 2001 dark gray, four-door Chevy Suburban. The shooter was nowhere to be found.

Precious Williams says she called 911 and stayed with the boy, who wasn't talking but was still blinking. She says an ambulance took about 40 minutes to get to the boy, who is said to be around 13 to 15 years old.

He was rushed to Henry Ford Hospital and has slipped into a coma.

He had no ID on him at the time and neighbors did not recognize him.

"They came asking all of us neighbors, did we see anything? All I heard was the shots. I didn't physically see him or who did anything. I don't even know who he is," says neighbor Tiffany Travis.

Police say no one has reported a missing person that matches his description.

"You have someone that's obviously a young person who would not be be missed, and so there has to be out there - a cousin, an aunt, someone, a grandmother, a parent - who realizes their child is missing," says Deputy Chief Rodney Johnson of the Detroit Police Department.

The only description of the boy at the time is that he is a youthful-looking black male, and was wearing a gray skull cap, a yellow hoodie and black sweatpants. The vehicle's license plate he was found in is CMB 8763.
