Campaign web site controversy: NRCC targets AZ Democrats

Posted: Updated:
PHOENIX (KSAZ) -

It looks like a political bait and switch.

The National Republican Congressional Committee has created web sites that look like they belong to Representatives Kyrsten Sinema, Ron Barber and Ann Kirkpatrick.

The web pages featuring images of the lawmakers and ways people can donate, but the money ends up going to fund Republican candidates.

Barber's campaign told FOX 10 the sites are misleading.

In a statement, the spokesman for the Republican Congressional Committee said, "We launched these web sites because Democrats like Kyrsten Sinema and Ann Kirkpatrick continue to deceive Arizona voters... about their support for a health care law that is now estimated to cost up to 2.5 million jobs.  It's no surprise they are freaking out about the sites, now that web traffic has been through the roof and Arizonans are learning the truth."

Ann Kirkpatrick's campaign calls this a scam, saying it's a new low, even for the NRCC.

We haven't heard back from Sinema's office.
