A new study proves something you might have guessed, people tend to gain weight on the weekends and lose it on weekdays.

Doctors tracked 80 adults and found that their weight was highest on Sunday and Monday, and lowest on Friday.

What does this research mean if you're trying to lose weight?

The study also found that people who maintained or lost weight had a clear pattern of lowering their calorie intake Monday through Friday to compensate for the weekend's indulgence.
