Celebrities battle it out at 8th Annual Beach Bowl

Posted: Updated:
NEW YORK (MYFOXNY) - Doctor Oz was just one of many celebrities who played in Direct TV’s 8th annual Beach Bowl at Hudson River Park.

One million pounds of freshly poured sand is what the celebrities were playing on.

The game was flag football and the competition was fierce!

The players came from all walks of celebrity life.

Former NFL greats, models, singers, and actors like Twilight star, Peter Facinelli, who is rooting for the Seahawks.

“I'd like to see a team that hasn't won before win” Facinelli said.

Although singer John Legend and gorgeous supermodel, Chrissy Teigen, are now married, they're not rooting for the same team Sunday. That’s because John Legend says he’s a huge Peyton Manning fan.

Celebrity chef Guy Fieri cooked up some moves on the sand, while Bizarre Foods host Andrew Zimmern also joined in the fun.
