CHICAGO (Sun-Times Media Wire) -

One man was killed and another was injured in a shooting in the city's Pilsen neighborhood Friday night.

The two men were shot about 10:30 p.m. while they were traveling westbound in a vehicle in the 1800 block of West 19th Street, police News Affairs Officer Hector Alfaro said.

Francisco Rufino, 22, was originally taken to University of Illinois Hospital and Health Sciences System, but he was later transferred to John H. Stroger, Jr. Hospital of Cook County, authorities said.

Rufino, of the 1800 block of West 17th Street, died there at 3:19 a.m., the Cook County Medical Examiner's office said.

The other man, 28, was taken to University of Illinois Hospital with a gunshot wound to the arm, Alfaro added.

The shooting is thought to be gang-related, Alfaro said. No one was in custody as Area Central detectives investigated.
