(WJBK) -

A group of students at Lawrence Technological University in Southfield helped develop a new video game and are currently beta testing it. A beta test is what's done to try out a video game and get feedback before it hits the market.

"So, in the game you're a paper plane that's flying down a hallway you have to dodge and avoid a lot of obstacles that I guess you would find in a regular school. So chairs, pencils, other paper," explains Marshall Ashton, senior lecturer of Game Art.

The student-based team called Infinite Machine consists of about 20 students from different majors, including software and engineering.

"It's kind of bringing in everybody, getting the best of what everybody can do and putting it all together," says adjunct professor Bryce Evans.

"It's been a long process. We've been doing this since early last fall, and a lot of us were nervous about how it was going to go. But a lot of people seem to like it so far. So we're all really happy about that," says Kurt Weabler, part of level design with Infinite Machine.

The game will be available on multiple platforms and will be entered it into a big electronic gaming competition.
