CHICAGO (FOX 32 News) -

A man arrested for a Near North Side burglary Thursday morning may be linked to 19 other Chicago burglaries dating back to August 2013, according to police.

Rodney Burton, 47, was charged with three counts of burglary and one count of possession of burglary tools, all felonies, according to a statement from Chicago Police.

Following a call of a burglary in progress in the 400 block of West Huron Street about 1:30 a.m. Thursday, police saw Burton exiting the building with a bag in hand, police said.

He drove off, but was quickly stopped by police and taken into custody. Officers found electronics, audio equipment, Blu-ray discs and burglary tools in the bag, the statement said.

Police said Burton, of the 0-100 block of North Hoyne Avenue, is linked to three active burglary patterns totaling 19 incidents across the city.

Judge Donald Panarese Jr. allowed Burton to be released on a $90,000 individual recognizance bond, but required electronic monitoring, according to the Cook County State's Attorney's office. He is next scheduled to appear in court Feb. 6.

Area Central detectives are investigating.
