Tillman says he will retire as a Chicago Bear

Posted: Updated:
CHICAGO (FOX 32 News) -

Chicago Bears cornerback Charles "Peanut" Tillman said he will test free agency this March. It's a move that could potentially end his career in Chicago.

But in an interview with 670 The Score this week, Tillman guaranteed he would retire as a Bear.

"The Bears and I are in good spirits. There's no bad blood,. there's nothing. We're in good spirits," Tillman said. "There's no bad blood with myself or Coach Trestman. Everything is good. We are all on good terms. In a perfect world, I will finish as a Bear. I guarantee I will retire as a Chicago Bear. I guarantee that."

Tillman said he doesn't know if he'll hit the open market. But it sounds like the Bears top his list of options.

Tillman is a "Walter Payton Man of the Year" nominee. The winner will be announced Saturday night, right here on FOX 32.

From stars Aaron Rodgers, Adrian Peterson and Calvin Johnson to up-and-comers Cordarrelle Patterson, Alshon Jeffrey and Eddie Lacy, with standouts like Reggie Bush, Brandon Marshall and Randall Cobb somewhere in between, the NFC North could probably field a Pro Bowl offense all by itself.

All James Carpenter wanted was to be able to run. That seems an odd wish coming from a 6-foot-5, 321-pound offensive lineman.
