ATLANTA, Ga. -

Miles and miles of stranded motorists, frozen streets, school children stuck on buses, and a public outcry for leadership has landed the Atlanta region in the national spotlight.

Thursday morning, Georgia Governor Nathan Deal appeared on the Fox News Channel to defend the State's response to the storm. Deal and other prominent figures from around the state made appearances across several national news networks to discuss how their efforts were perceived.

Atlanta Mayor Kasim Reed appeared on NBC's "Today" show on Thursday, defending the city's response to warnings of the storm.

Wednesday evening, FOX 5's Tom Haynes appeared on the Fox News Channel with host Megyn Kelly to discuss the issues facing the region. As state and local leaders attempt to calm concerned residents, the nation is asking questions about how the storm response was handled.
