Passenger: Metro-North worker was masturbating on train

FAIRFIELD, Conn. (AP) -

An employee has been arrested on a charge of public indecency following a complaint from a passenger on a train from New York City to Connecticut, according to the MTA's Metro-North Railroad.

MTA police arrested Manny Ramos, an engineer trainee, on Tuesday morning after a female passenger said he was masturbating.

Ramos, 34, of Brooklyn, N.Y., fled the train when it stopped at Fairfield, said Metro-North spokeswoman Meredith Daniels. He was apprehended on a nearby street and identified by the passenger, she said.

It was not immediately known if he is represented by a lawyer. Bridgeport Superior Court said he was taken into custody by Fairfield police, who did not immediately return a call seeking information.

Ramos was suspended without pay.

Daniels said the woman was alone and was resting or possibly asleep.
