Seahawks Arrive In Jersey City

Posted: Updated:
Jersey City, New Jersey (My9NJ) - Super Bowl XLIII is now only days away and both teams are gearing up for all the events that are taking place in the Garden State. When the Seattle Seahawks arrived in Jersey City, where the team will be staying during the week long festivities, they were greeting by eager and adoring fans.

The Seahawks coach Pete Carrol, former coach of the New York Jets, was welcomed back to New Jersey with open-arms. When asked about being back in the Garden State he said he “Couldn’t be more excited!”

Super Bowl fever was all over Jersey City and among the star studded events was Super Bowl Fashion Weekend. Former New York Giants Super Bowl Champion Oddessa Tuner walked the runway along with Miss New Jersey USA Emily Shaw and Miss New Jersey Teen USA Valentina Sanchez.

With all the hoopla over who is the real host of this year’s big game, New York or New Jersey, it seems like the Garden state is really holding their own when it comes to events leading up to the big day.

In Ridgewood, New Jersey they are celebrating with a fire and ice festival along with other daily events that are taking place throughout this entire week leading up to Super Bowl Sunday.

Michael Freeman won the first bodybuilding contest he ever entered on Saturday at the state championships at Kean University in Union, New Jersey. The win brought him to his knees and he says he's paid the price for this victory. “I definitely sacrificed a lot this year. This is probably the year I've been most focused in my life. And the reason is because I believe in myself,” he said. The championships brought scores of men and women out to the competition.
