Police: Multiple Cars May Have Struck 51-Year-Old Woman

RICHBORO, Pa. -

Police say they now believe multiple cars may of struck 51-year old Christine Witte outside her mother's Northampton Township home including the driver of a silver Dodge Caravan. 

They say they're not certain he's the driver that killed her.

"The vehicle has damage to the center potion of the under carriage. There's no damage to the right fender that you would normally see in a hit and run," Police Chief Michael Clark said.

Police say Witte was hit just before 6:30 this morning and the driver of the Dodge Caravan called police after hearing about the deadly crash.

His car was taken from the Warminister Train Station and impounded while he was questioned by Northampton police. So far he isn't facing charges.

"He indicated that he knew he hit something but did not think it was a person," Clark said.

Police are investigating what Witte was doing outside so early in the morning in front of her house.

Neighbors say Jacksonville Road is heavily traveled and sometimes dangerous.

"Even if you hit something and you're not sure if it was a person, you should stop." Neighbor William Cowdrick, said.

Police are still reviewing evidence that was found at the scene to see if they can identify additional car parts. If you have any information about this incident please call at 215-322-6111.

    New Haven police say they have charged a Westbrook with making a hoax call in November to say an armed man was heading to shoot up Yale University.
    Police say they have charged a Connecticut man with making a call in November in which he falsely claimed an armed man was on his way to shoot up Yale University. New Haven police said Wednesday that 50-year-old Jeffrey Jones, of Westbrook, has been charged with falsely reporting an incident, threatening, reckless endangerment, misuse of the emergency 911 system and breach of peace.
