Upgrading your TV experience ahead of the Super Bowl

Posted: Updated:

With less than a week to go until the big game a lot of people are looking to upgrade their TVs. Now is the time to do it with prices at some of the lowest of the year.

Ronald Jaundoo of P.C. Richard & Son says this is the biggest time of year for TVs. He says with the changeover to new models, stores are having 30 percent to 40 percent off sales for older models.

Prices like those brought Nick Kontas into P.C. Richard & Son in search of a new set. He says he's not even a big football fan

But there are so many choices out there: plasma, LED, smart, even 3D... how does one decide?

Jaundoo says you want anything 1080p with great refresh rate for sports.

Well what about the plasma vs the LED conundrum?

He says plasma screens are a lot better in motion and LED screens are very bright.

Sales experts say prices could rise again after the big game, but they say they next round of sales will be after March Madness.

It appears the subway bedbug problem we've been reporting is getting worse. Commuters already have to contend with sweltering platforms, scurrying rats and packed train cars, and now there's another transit woe: fear of bedbugs.
