Gyms Go Back To Childhood Games To Encourage Fitness

Posted: Updated:

Here's a good way to get adults to exercise: think of it as recess.

New York City's Reebok Sports Clubs are using playground-inspired classes to get people to drop the pounds. The exercises include relay races, wheelbarrow push-ups, crabwalking, skipping and tug-of-war.

The goal of the class is to get participants to move like children do without any inhibitions.

The class reportedly costs $35 per session. Other gyms are starting to offer similar products too. Crunch in Brooklyn reportedly has a class that uses playground-style games.

Some people online were more critical of this trend. James Shay said, "I don't go to gym to play games, I go there to get results."
