Amtrak modifies schedule in response to Monday's expected cold weather

Amtrak released a modified schedule for Monday in response to the expected cold weather, which includes a forecasted wind chill value as low as minus 26.

The following trains will not be running on Monday: Lincoln Service trains No. 300, 301, 306 and 307; Hiawatha Service trains No. 329, 332, 333, 336, 337 and 340; Wolverine Service trains No. 350 and 355; Illinois Zephyr Service trains No. 382 and 383; and finally, the Saluki & Illini trains No. 392 and 393, according to a Saturday release from Amtrak.

No changes are planned for other Chicago Hub Services, including Michigan routes to and from Grand Rapids/Holland and Port Huron/East Lansing, Missouri service between Kansas City and St. Louis and Indiana service to and from Indianapolis, the release said.

Passengers who have paid but choose not to travel due to this service disruption can receive a refund or a voucher for future travel, according to the release. Some reservations booked online can be modified or canceled on Amtrak's website.
